MdW is an evolving coalition of artist-run projects, platforms, and spaces spanning across the Midwest. We’re getting together in Kansas City with fellow artists and culture bearers for a week of connecting, resource-sharing, an exhibition, field trips, and opportunities to learn about alternative models for navigating the Midwest’s cultural landscape.

  • When imagining ways to make art more accessible, it's clear that some folks feel a bit overwhelmed when they are unfamiliar with their local art ecology or any artists within it. That's where places run by artists themselves and local groups with similar interests can really step in and help out to share resources and tell stories.
